What are some facts about the solar system? I know one of the ways is that you can actually cook with a solar system in the wild and that's a fact.

All you see around you is because of solar energy. That's how powerfull it is. All the wind, the waves comes from it. and just from 8 solar only powerplants in the deserts like the sahara and the australian outback you could generate more that the total planetary energy comsumption include gas, coal and nuclear.

It’s a nice thought that solar energy and other forms of renewable energy could take over from our reliance on "dirty energy" however; the costs of these alternatives are just not attractive enough versus the energy output and cost of fossil fuels. There needs to be far more money going into the R&D of these alternatives to improve their efficiency and commercial viability. Solar energy alone will just not be enough to meet our energy demands. More money needs to go into research or as a world population we need to make some serious sacrifices with our energy demands.

The real fact to think about is "we can't live without the sun"

We certainly can't live without the sun, we are just terrible at extracting energy from it for our own use.

If we could somehow harness the energy from lightning we would not need solar power?  I wonder when we will figure that out!!
