So, the UK has recently announced plans to build more 'clean' nuclear power stations, and so I wondered what people's thoughts are on whether or not nuclear is a good thing?

I voted 'yes definitely' because it is really the only 'clean' source we have that can supply such huge amount of power.

20 years from now hopefully there will be a more friendly source.

I voted the second because I think that it has potential to be cleaner, but if we can find a friendlier source that can produce the same amount of energy I would go with the latter.

Is nuclear energy sustainable?

Where in the World can Uranium be found? How is it extracted and purified? How is it transported?

When exploring these underlying questions, I think it is evident that nuclear power is not a sustainable process and will not make a substantial improvement to our carbon dioxide emissions.
