The Great Orangutan Project makes it easier for volunteers to contribute help not only by providing money but by also personally taking care and supervising the orangutans until they are fit enough to live in the wild. Considered as Asia’s last great ape, the orangutan has become a cornerstone in wildlife conservation efforts: that international cooperation can lead to the survival of vulnerable creatures.

Aside from providing the chance to take care of endangered animals, Malaysia's orangutan conservation project also gives volunteers the opportunity to have a peek in the natural habitat of these animals and the communities around them. It only takes initiative and imagination to make them yield concrete results.

We "adopted" an Orang Utan last month, because we were so distressed by seeing the struggles they are having to put up with.

(The latest in our menagerie, which now also includes Polar Bears, siberian tigers & snow leopards!)
